Creed III is for me arguably the best of the franchise, it still carries the heart and soul of the first two films but this time around it reinvents and elevates itself when it comes to boxing scenes.
You can clearly feel Michael B. Jordan’s passion not just for these characters and this world but for film in general, the way in which he uses the camera to convey so much is absolutely stunning.
However, the film does suffer from the genre tropes and it falls deep into the field of that is called predictability.
The acting is good, the tension between Adonis and Damien is great, one is fighting to defend his legacy and honour, and one fights with rage and resentment. the final fight is one of the best fight sequences in the franchise, absolutely magnificent.
What a directorial debut for Michael B. Jordan, and this is by far his best performance in the franchise, what’s impressive is that he wore many hats in this film, not only was he acting and directing but he was producing also.
Overall Creed III is a great time at the movies, it is a punch-filled, cool and sometimes inspiring film that sees Creed step out of Rocky’s shadow and chart a path that is his own full of triumph.
